Post Details
Branch Postmaster (BPM)
BPM is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Branch Post Office, IPPB services and marketing of Department products. Selected BPM candidates must arrange accommodation for the Branch Post Office and reside in the same village where the office is located.
Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM)
ABPM assists the BPM and performs duties such as sale of stamps and stationery, mail delivery, IPPB transactions and other assigned postal activities.
Dak Sevak
Dak Sevaks may work in Post Offices, Sorting Offices, Mail Offices, Transit Mail Offices or Delivery Centres and perform mail, delivery, bag-handling and IPPB-related duties as assigned.

Educational Qualification
- Candidate must have passed Class 10 (Secondary School Examination) from a recognised Board.
- Passing marks in Mathematics and English are required.
- The prescribed local language must have been studied up to at least Class 10.
Other Qualifications

Selection Process
No Written Examination: India Post GDS selection will be based on a system-generated merit list prepared from the candidate's Class 10 marks/percentage.
- The merit list is calculated up to 4 decimal places.
- If actual marks are shown on the marksheet, those marks must be entered.
- If only grades/points are available, they are converted according to the prescribed system.
